As a person living with a terminal illness, doing her best to be healthy, going through her healing journey, I have had to go to various dark places where hurt, pain, trauma, terror, fear, anger reside. The memories of various incidents and situations haunt you again and again.

From those dark places I have emerged and continue to emerge as light, as love, as strength, as courage, as wisdom...everything that has become a source of inspiration and strength to 1000s and 1000s of people around the world.

Some years ago, I could not have imagined myself saying that I am grateful for this journey with 4th stage cancer.  How can one be grateful for the physical hell that one goes through? How can one be grateful for the loneliness and the darkness that one lives with?  How can one be grateful for the scary thought that I will leave this world and my loved ones behind any given moment?  What will my precious daughter (who was just 13 years old then) do?  How can one be grateful for those horrible events that occurred in my life: the mental, emotional, physical abuse?

And yet here I am...grateful, happy, feeling blessed, at peace.  WHY?

Because I was Graced with the insight to see THE GIFT in every situation. That Grace lifted me up and helped me emerge from the depths of darkness as the light, the love, the strength, the courage, the peace that I truly am.

Like me, you have your share of memories, experiences that enveloped you in despair, sense of powerlessness, choicelessness, loneliness and more. It's inevitable in the human journey. I want you to know that you are not alone. There's a Grace that carries you as it carried me.  It can lift you up, should you choose it.
